Тема: Куликовский/ Kulikowski from ольховец/ Olkhovets
Dear researchers,
my name is Sebastian from Germany and I'm looking for my ancestors. It would be very nice and helpful if someone could link my topic in the right forums since I don't speak russian or ukrainian.
It took a lot of time to find out about my ancestors since the language barrier is huge for me, but after half a year I made the first success.
My great-grandfathers name was Leon Kulikowski (Леон Куликовский), he was born 10th April 1878 in Lysjanka (Лисянка) and killed by Bolshevik 18th August 1919 in Lysjanka.
He was married to Anna Maria Helena Krynska h. Przegonia.
His parents were Ivan Kulikowski and Anna Racha(?) (Рачинской)
After Leon Kulikowski was shot, his wife Anna Krynska and her children escaped to Poland.
Leon Kulikowski owned a sugar factory in Olkhovets (ольховец) and the family lived there.
Source for Leon Kulikowski baptism: From State Archive of Cherkassy
Fonds 931, Opis 1, delo 135 (1875-1905)
Metric Book Lysyanskoy Roman-Catholic Church of 1878
Source for marriage between Leon Kulikowski and Anna Krynska:
Historical Central State Archives of Ukraine in Kiev (TSGIAK)
Metric books Kiev St. Nikolaus Roman-Catholic Church of 1912
I want to find out more about Leon Kulikowski and his life. What kind of property he had and why he was killed. There is a polish newspaper-article about how he was killed, it was published in the USA in the 1920s. But it just says how the Bolsheviks forced him to take off his clothes and then killed him. Then Anna Krynska explains her escape.
Maybe anyone is also researching in ольховец/ Olkhovets or Лисянка/Lysjanka and could give me some ideas. I've already contacted the State Archive of Cherkassy.
Kind regards,
Sebastian
